I finished Whiskey in a Teacup today. I now feel like Reese Witherspoon and I could be BFFs. I never realized that she grew up in Nashville! I knew she was raised in the South but never realized it was so close. She has her own fashion line and store too, Draper James.
The title of the book comes from something her Grandmother used to say.
“My grandmother Dorothea always said that it was a combination of beauty and strength that made Southern women ‘whiskey in a teacup.’” “We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside we’re strong and fiery.”
She is very proud of her Southern upbringing and her family, as she should be. If you get an opportunity to read or listen to the book, DO IT. It’s only 304 pages or 3 hours audio.
